Current German Chancellor Angela Merkel is a communist by choice, born and raised in former East Germany. She voluntarily joined German Communist Youth organization and spend many years in Soviet Union, where most likely she became KGB asset.
Current Russian President Vladimir Putin is a communist by choice born and raised in former Soviet Union. He was high-ranking KGB officer overlooking KGB's agents while residing in East German outpost.
It is my opinion that both these comrades have crossed, or even shared their paths during their communist past...
