Today is Israel's birthday. German genocide of Jews during World War 2, currently called "Holocaust" or "Shoah", was main foundation upon which the Jewish State had been created and the sole reason why people all over the world, at that time, did not react to the Jews grabbing huge chunk of Palestine for themselves.
But 70 years later the situation is different. Some of the Jews have made an industry out of their own peoples' tragedy. As years go by, more and more money is poured into Holocaust museums, memorials, statues and all kind of educational memorabilia, from mere pamphlets through books to films - just the government grants and subsidies in only richest countries worldwide alone - it can be counted in billions of dollars nowadays. Clearly it has become very lucrative, booming business for some of Jewish people. Yet we understand it: except for those for whom it is just business, the vast majority of Jews simply want to keep the memory of their horrible losses alive - and it would be OK, but...
But the people of contemporary Israel are not the ones who suffered in the Holocaust that happened three generations ago. Much like no one sane would blame contemporary Germans for the sins of their grandfathers, in the same way the leniency for law breaking that the world had given to the Jews during creation of Israel at the expense of Palestine no longer can, nor should be extended onto contemporary Jews. At the same time, what is incredibly and extremely disturbing, the way the contemporary Jews of Israel are treating the Palestinians is simply appalling: they keep them locked in ghettos, don't allow them to move freely on their own land, they seize their property, force curfews and compulsory checkpoints, they even have had implemented state-approved collective responsibility to Palestinians and segregation on a scale that doesn't exist anywhere else in a civilized world - segregation that went far beyond the separated schools or buses for Jews and Arabs - and all of this is happening right here and now, in the 21st century, as if the Nazi German Third Reich had been resurrected in Israel! Basically, only the gas chambers is all what's missing in this picture before we could call it new Holocaust. The Palestinian Holocaust.
So here's one for your 70th birthday, Israel: if you want the world to keep caring about what Germans did to your people - don't do it to other peoples!
It's as simple as that.
Otherwise - sooner or later, but for sure if you won't stop it - even your friends will turn away from you in the end, and you will complain (again) that the whole world has gone antisemitic... and when it happens, this time you'll have only yourself to blame for.

Dzisiaj są urodziny Izraela. Niemieckie ludobójstwo Żydów w czasie II wojny światowej, obecnie zwane „Holokaustem” lub „Shoah”, było najważniejszym fundamentem na którym powstało państwo żydowskie i jedynym powodem, dla którego ludzie na całym świecie w tamtym czasie nie reagowali na zagrabienie ogromnego kawałka Palestyny przez Żydów.
Ale 70 lat później sytuacja jest zupełnie inna. Niektórzy z Żydów stworzyli z tragedii ich własnego narodu dochodowy przemysł. Wraz z upływem lat coraz więcej pieniędzy jest przelewanych na muzea Holokaustu, pomniki, rzeźby i wszelkiego rodzaju pamiątki edukacyjne, od zwykłych broszur, przez książki po filmy – tylko dotacje i subsydia rządowe w samych tylko najbogatszych krajach na całym świecie – obecnie można liczyć już w miliardach dolarów. Oczywiste jest, że Holokaust stał się wybitnie lukratywnym, kwitnącym biznesem dla niektórych Żydów. Jednak rozumiemy i to: za wyjątkiem tych, dla których jest to zwykły dochodowy interes, ogromna większość Żydów po prostu chce zachować pamięć o swych strasznych stratach – i byłoby to w porządku, ale…
Ale ludzie współczesnego Izraela to nie ci, którzy ucierpieli w Holokauście trzy pokolenia temu. Podobnie jak nikt zdrowy na umyśle nie obwiniłby współczesnych Niemców za grzechy ich dziadków, tak samo wyrozumiałość dla łamania praw, z jaką świat zezwolił wtedy Żydom na utworzenie Izraela kosztem Palestyny, obecnie nie może i nie powinna być poszerzona na współczesnych Żydów. Równocześnie (co jest niezwykle niepokojące) sposób, w jaki współcześni Żydzi izraelscy traktują Palestyńczyków, jest po prostu przerażający: trzymają ich zamkniętych w gettach, nie pozwalają im swobodnie poruszać się po własnej ziemi, przejmują ich nieruchomości, nakładają na nich godziny policyjne i przymusowe punkty kontrolne, stosują wobec nich odpowiedzialność zbiorową, a nawet ustanowili zatwierdzoną przez państwo segregację na tak ogromną skalę, że drugiej takiej nie znajdziecie nigdzie indziej w całym cywilizowanym świecie – segregację, która daleko wykroczyła poza oddzielne szkoły czy autobusy dla Żydów i Arabów – a wszystko to dzieje się tu i teraz, w XXI wieku, zupełnie tak, jakby nazistowska niemiecka III Rzesza zmartwychwstała w Izraelu! Właściwie brakuje jedynie komór gazowych i moglibyśmy mówić o nowym Holokauście. Palestyńskim Holokauście.
Stąd takie właśnie moje urodzinowe życzenie dla Izraela: jeżeli chcecie, aby świat nadal obchodziło to, co Niemcy zrobili z waszymi ludźmi – to przestańcie czynić to samo innemu narodowi!
Po prostu.
W przeciwnym razie – prędzej czy później, ale jeśli sami nie przestaniecie, to z pewnością dojdzie do tego – nawet wasi przyjaciele też się w końcu odwrócą od was i będziecie (ponownie) narzekać, że cały świat stał się antysemicki… a gdy już do tego dojdzie, tym razem będziecie mogli winić za to tylko samych siebie.
